Windsor Great Park – Sunday 14th August
Graham Godfrey, the AGO of the Thames Valley Area Group reports: What was a brilliant day out, this was almost the highlight of the Thames Valley calendar so far this year.
Around 45 Ferraris arrived on the day, everything from a 246 GT Dino right up to three F8s. This was in addition to John Collins (of Talacrest) who brought along ten classic V12 Ferraris, including some from his own personal collection – a La Ferrari Aperta, a Monza SP2 and his SP3 JC.
The event was bathed in sunshine, nine Area Groups were represented with some 100 members and guests attending. The polo was exciting and fast moving and to cap it all, we were asked to do a parade of all 45 Ferraris around the perimeter of the polo course in front of the crowds. We may have been doing only 10 mph but it was a wonderful spectacle for all concerned.
The winner of John Collins choice of ‘best’ Ferrari present (in the Thames Valley car park) was Nigel Chiltern-Hunt’s wonderful F40, the prize being a painting of the car by our very own John Lawson of Yew Tree Gallery.
A big thank you to Anthony who did 90% of the organising.
