Issue 243 Overview

Posted on February 12, 2025.

If the Royal Mail does its job properly, you should be receiving the February issue of Ferrari magazine later this week. As it’s the first issue of 2025, it’s a road trip special, in a bid to inspire you to take your Ferrari somewhere a bit different this season.

Within the 108 pages of Ferrari you’ll find stories of excursions to Scotland and Italy in a 360, while one owner took his newly acquired Purosangue to the south of France, to run it in. Another member took his F12 to Italy to see which would cost more to feed: his Ferrari or him and his wife. Spoiler alert: the car lost…

Also in this issue is a feature on how Neil Hammacott celebrated his 50th birthday. No, it didn’t involve the hiring of his local village hall and an Abba tribute band; instead he took his 488 on the Ferrari Tribute Targa Florio. Incidentally, this feature mentions a video that was produced by Ferrari, and you can watch it here:

Another video that you can see is on the Purosangue, which gets a comprehensive review in this edition of the magazine; Richard Dredge took this FUV to the Elan Valley in mid-Wales to see how it coped with precipitation galore. Ferrari produced a 15-minute video on some of the cutting-edge design and tech in its first four-door production car, and you can see it here.

Also in this issue is a piece by Nigel Carter on his quest to bring a freshly restored Fiat Dino back from Europe, which was all going wrong before he and his pal snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Keith Bluemel reports from the Milano Autoclassica, the Yorkshire group tell all about their very wet trip to southern France, and magazine editor Richard Dredge explores everything that the Outer Hebrides has to offer, with his own road trip. He didn’t get to take a Ferrari all the way to the Western Isles unfortunately, but sometimes you just can’t have it all…
