Halfway through the season the CSA Service Group Ferrari Hillclimb Championship is far from finished, with the battle for the top spot heating up. As the championship operates on a competitors best-8 rounds being scored it is still all to play for.
Sunshine and showers were forecast for our annual visit to Gurston Down in Wiltshire. The meteorologists predictions turned out to be correct with regular cells of rain keeping at bay the June sunshine’s best efforts to dry the track, which proved to be quite frustrating for the nine CSA Service Group Ferrari Hillclimb Championship drivers who had made the trip.
Drawing back the hotel curtains on Sunday to be greeted by sunshine was a welcome change and the effect this had on the times were immediately obvious once practice commenced, with Dave Snelson unofficially lowering the previous hill record with his single practice run.
Top points on Saturday were won by Rob Samuels who breaks Dave Snelson’s winning streak, with Dave answering back on the Sunday.
The full reports including pictures and a wonderful two-part inclusion from newcomer Simon Jefferies are available to review online, alongside the latest championship standings and times.
