At last weekend’s Ferrari Days at Silverstone two tours of the FXX and Corse Clienti pits were organised by the Club with 15 members on each of Saturday and Sunday being shown around the otherwise closely guarded facilities. Whilst it was a shame that the pits were not open to all à la Silverstone Classic it was nevertheless appreciated to have an insight and informed explanation of what went on behind the barriers. Of particular interest were the three F1 cars of the Raikkonen/Massa era, and all of the Corse Clienti cars made wonderful sounds out on the circuit with their unsilenced V12 and V10 engines. If only modern race cars were similar…
